About

Lydia Hansen is a Berlin-based photographer who was born on the Faroe Islands in 1992.

Being surrounded by nature and the typical harsh climate of the islands, has influenced Lydia to take a melancholic approach to photography.

The minuscule population of the Faroe Islands has led Lydia to further explore the theme of isolation and seclusion.

Lydia prefers to take an artistic approach to photography, rather than giving an obvious narrative, in order for the audience to interpret the art how they see fit. Her photos do not have a singular meaning, they are meant to challenge the viewer, rather than tell them what they are observing.
