About

Lydia Hansen is a photographer from the Faroe Islands, working between the North Atlantic and Berlin. Her practice moves between portraiture, landscape, and still life, shaped by a quiet attention to atmosphere, memory, and time.

Growing up in the Faroe Islands continues to inform her visual language, one rooted in stillness, raw landscapes, and shifting light. Her work carries a subtle tension between solitude and movement, the intimate and the distant, the present and what remains.

Lydia holds both a BA and MA in Photography from University of Europe for Applied Sciences in Berlin, where she developed a conceptual approach to image-making alongside a strong technical foundation.

Alongside her artistic practice, she works on selected commissions and personal projects.

Lydia is a member of JERGON.
